Kanarra Falls, Kanarraville Utah

Great hike at Kanarra Falls, Kanarraville, Utah!

Kanarra Falls, Kanaraville, Utah

This is a spectacular hike with moderate challenges and beautiful scenery.  It is a “mini” Narrows, if you are familiar with Zion National Park at all.  Hiked in mid-summer, the water is cold and refreshing.  I look forward to going in the fall, as the scrub oak will be a spectacular wash of color!

To get there…

The canyon is located just east of the town of Kanarraville, just south of Cedar City, Utah.  Exit I-15 and drive to the center of town.  Follow 100 N. as it winds east, becomes 250 N. and enters the mouth of the canyon.  Parking is available at the end of the road and is $10 for the day.  The trail head is obvious as you begin on the dirt road heading toward the canyon.  The beginning of the hike is easy and very picturesque, so go as far as you are comfortable!  In about a mile you will get to the start of the slot canyon, where you will spend more time in the water than on the trail.  The waterfalls are absolutely spectacular and two of them will challenge your climbing abilities and height tolerance!  Just be aware of weather conditions, as slot canyons can be very dangerous.
