BACK TO SCHOOL…What a great time of year!!!

As a former Middle School Principal this is definitely one of my favorite times of the year.  I love the energy as staff comes back into the building excited about a new year and new adventures!  I love the energy from kids who are nervous about a new school or new teachers.  I particularly love the parents energy as some are excited for their children and others are nervous for the new beginning for their child.

One of my favorite commercials was a Staples commercial that had a student moping down the aisle and the parent was kicking up her heels as they strode down each aisle picking up new school supplies for the child.  The message in this, of course, is that the parent was excited about school and the child was not.  My 14 years in education taught me that most of us are excited about the new start and yet there are many worries that come into play for each new year.  Will I make friends?  Will my teachers like me?  Will I find my class rooms?  What do I wear?  Should I try out for a sport or activity at the school?  (this answer is YES!!!)

Enjoy the start of the new school year and take an extra meoment with those kids to embrace the excitement and the fears that come with each new start.  Susan

George’s Corner Restaurant Now Open!!!

St. George, Utah, has a new, locally owned restaurant in Ancestor Square.  George’s Corner opened on July 4, 2012 with a bang!!!  We went for dinner on Wednesday and the place was hopping.  The food was fantastic and the restaurant is quaint and inviting.  The 3 different levels offer something for everyone.  The upper level, which can be accessed from the main parking lot, is all dining area.  The main level features a beautiful bar with seating, and table seating.  On the lower level you can enjoy a game of pool and enjoy learning more about the history of St. George and George’s Corner!

George’s offers a large menu to accomodate even the most picky eater!  From appetizers (small bites) to burgers and salads to main dishes (plates), and beverages of all kinds, you have it all.  And don’t forget the desserts.  We tasted a little bit of a varity of menu items…it was all fantastic!!!

George’s is located at 2 West St. George Blvd.  For hours, directions, menu and more information about George’s you can visit their website.  When you go, let them know Susan Hansen Realty Group sent you!!!!

Saint George, Utah, Market Graphs

Happy June!  I hope that your summer is off to a great start with family and friends! Our St George market continues to show signs of improvement and most noticeably with the inventory levels dropping significantly! The following graphs indicate that our inventory of residential properties under $300k is at four months. Under $200k this number drops into more of a “Seller’s Market”. We are seeing more “Multiple Offer” situations and continue to see fewer Short Sale/Bank Owned/REO/Foreclosure properties on the market.

If you, or someone you know, is looking to buy or sell please let me know as we would love to help them!
