Ironman St. George Utah coming May 5th!
St. George, Utah, is gearing up for the Ironman Triathalon this Saturday, May 5th. You can already feel the energy with the signs, notices and athletes who are in town getting a feel for the area, the weather and the course!
The event will begin at first light at Sand Hollow Reservoir with a 2.4-mile swim. After the swim, participants mount their bikes for a 112-mile ride through some of the most spectacular scenery in the world, leading them to the final leg of their event, the 26.2-mile run. The finish line is in the heart of downtown St. George.
For information about getting around town and spectator information, or to download the traffic guide, follow the link to City of St. George. There you will find information about shuttle bus service, spectator parking and additional events. You can also dial 511 from any phone 24 hours a day for up-to-the-minute reports.

If you have never been to Tanner Amphitheater, this is a “must do”! Tanner is a stunning 2000-seat outdoor amphitheater surrounded by the cliffs of Zion National Park, and hosts some fantatic concerts throughout the summer. UPCOMING EVENTS – ST. GEORGE – FEB. 2012
With Spring just around the corner, Saint George gears up with great events to get you out and about! Here are some of the highlights for February:
St. George Area Parade of Homes, in its 22nd year, features 28 homes throughout the greater St. George area. This is a huge event drawing in visitors from all around the country. It runs from February 17-26 and tickets are $12.50. For more information go to the Parade of Homes website.
Art in Kayenta is a personal favorite! Coyote Gulch Art Village is nestled among towering red sandstone cliffs. From February 17-19, Art in Kayenta will feature a broad spectrum of artists offering work in acrylic, watercolors, oils, bronze sculptures, fused glass, gourd art, mosaics, photography, metal art, jewelry, pottery and more. Ironman St. George 2012 is set to take place in St. George, Utah, May 5, 2012. The triathalon begins with the 2.4 mile swim at Sand Hollow Reservoir, then the 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run course which go through Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, Snow Canyon and St. George. If you have not wittnessed this event in the past, you owe it to yourself. The energy generated from the participants, spectators and volunteers is overwhelming!
