UPCOMING EVENTS – ST. GEORGE – FEB. 2012

With Spring just around the corner, Saint George gears up with great events to get you out and about!  Here are some of the highlights for February:

St. George Area Parade of Homes, in its 22nd year, features 28 homes throughout the greater St. George area.  This is a huge event drawing in visitors from all around the country.  It runs from February 17-26 and tickets are $12.50.  For more information go to the Parade of Homes website.

Art in Kayenta is a personal favorite!  Coyote Gulch Art Village is nestled among towering red sandstone cliffs.  From February 17-19, Art in Kayenta will feature a broad spectrum of artists offering work in acrylic, watercolors, oils, bronze sculptures, fused glass, gourd art, mosaics, photography, metal art, jewelry, pottery and more.   Wander the village and enjoy the shops, artisans, food and drink.  Click here for more information on Art in Kayenta and Coyote Gulch Art Village

Are you interested in volunteering for the Ironman St. George 2012?

Ironman St. George 2012 is set to take place in St. George, Utah, May 5, 2012.  The triathalon begins with the 2.4 mile swim at Sand Hollow Reservoir, then the 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run course which go through Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, Snow Canyon and St. George.  If you have not wittnessed this event in the past, you owe it to yourself.  The energy generated from the participants, spectators and volunteers is overwhelming!

25th Year of World Senior Games

Let the games begin!!!  Saint George, Utah is host for the 25th year of the Huntsman World Senior Games.  Seniors ranging in age from 50 to 90+ are participating in this year’s games.  The Huntsman World Senior Games officially kicked off last night with the Opening Ceremonies and a fantastic fireworks display at the Dixie State College Hansen Stadium.  Sky divers, dancers, musicians and speakers paid tribute to those participating.  The games include everything from golf to softball, volleyball to horse shoes to mountain biking.  If you have never watched pickleball, it is a must!  The Susan Hansen Team welcomes the participants, family and friends of all those visiting our area.  For more information and a schedule of the games, go to http://www.seniorgames.net/

St. George Marathon
